we made a questionnaire and asked a range of ages in order to get a wide variety of answers and opinions. the questionnaire helped us to find out exactly what people enjoy from horror movies and which type the enjoy. we were also able to find out which are the most popular types of horror movies. researching the horror genre was pretty easy. we have looked into different types of horror such as slasher and psychological. we found out that the technical codes are very different to each other. and that they are very unique in the way that they are used. we were drawn to the psychological horror genre to any of the other types of horror because it was gripping and interesting to watch and we could interpret the codes and conventions easily. we were really interested in the camera shots and movement in this genre too. there was a lot of movement in one shot, and the shots are long. i learnt a lot from the essays that i wrote about the 5 openings and the 3 whole movies that i watched. i specificly chose movies that are psychological and close to, like silent hill and paranormal activity. i also found that the music used in the films are very low bass tones which create suspence and tension the the audience. we made a powerpoint showing our research of the movies that we watched.
